Today marks my Twitter debut and the first in a series of daily blog posts while I’m attending the PICES Effects of Climate Change on the World’s Oceans 2018 Symposium in DC this week. I’ve never attended a conference without presenting before, so am using the opportunity to manifest some networking opportunities via a concentrated effort on meeting new people. I’ll be making this happen with some intense on-the-ground tweet training (more on this later). For now, here's a [deconstructed] list of the session topics to get you started.

I put together a new business card in preparation for attending a new conference (#ECCWO18), and because I'm starting a new project and excited to meet new people. I wanted to showcase my range of interests and build a frame of reference around my identity as an "Ecosystem Scientist". Of course, I also brought along my standard affiliation business card for the Farallon Institute, but it's not personalized!
